ASOT has a unique unit feature and system not seen in any other Oceania region unit. ASOT believes in recognising the long-term commitment, work and effort that all members put into the unit. Therefore, when a person joins the unit, they receive their very own uniform and record of attainment and achievements. This uniform becomes something they can work towards developing as they achieve more and more within the unit.

ASOT also has a unique custom ranking system which incorporates inspiration from real life military forces around the world that are similar to the Australian Defence Force, to create a system that allows unit personnel to progress through the unit no matter their role or position.
