Pilot Officer Billet Ranks (Aviation Corps)

Officer Cadet
OCDT

The rank of Officer Cadet is unique to most other starting ranks. Members with this rank are given the opportunity to join the rotary squadron without having their rotary wings. This way they can fly in operations with a supervising pilot in order to gain experience before completing their rotary assessment.

Pilot Officer
POF

The rank of Pilot Officer is the first
rank within the pilot officer billet and is awarded to members who have completed their rotary wing assessment. The Pilot Officer rank is therefore the base rank for all qualified pilots.

Flying Officer
FOF

The rank of Flying Officer is awarded to members who have reached the required billet points for promotion. The Flying Officer rank shows that the member has grown in skills and continued to show dedication to the unit.

Flight Lieutenant
FLT

Flight Lieutenant is the second highest achievable rank of the within the pilot officer billet. This rank demonstrates an extremely high level of time, dedication and commitment to ASOT and their respective call signs. These members are deemed as senior veterans and are expected to lead by example in all regards.

Senior Flight Lieutenant
SFLT

Senior Flight Lieutenant is the highest achievable rank of the within the pilot officer billet. These members are held in the highest regard and are often long-term veterans of the unit. They are professionals in the respective call signs and often step up for leadership or other admin based positions when called upon.
